Digitalisation, Urbanisation, Climate Change, Sustainability. How do these global trends affect our daily lives and what challenges brings this to the cities we live in? What is our view on the future of our region and how can we develop our own smart environment on a regional scale?
In the weekend of September 14 to 17 we will explore some of these challenges for smarter regional development together with students and professionals. The weekend is organised by Novel-T and DesignLab of University of Twente for ECIU (European Consortium of Innovative Universities) members and their triple-helix partners, along with Enschede smart city alliances.
During an extended weekend we integrate the knowledge and experience of professionals (scientists, businessmen, civil servants) with the energy, creativity and drive of young talent and entrepreneurs. We combine a creathon for students and young entrepreneurs, with a seminar and Science2Design4Society (S2D4S) workshops for professionals. The two programs run in parallel and are connected via speeddates in which the creathon teams can tap into the knowledge of the professionals.
The challenges for the Creathon will focus on your regional implications of Digitalisation, Urbanisation and Climate Change & Sustainability. The target of the S2D4S workshops will be to develop a practical framework for ELS (Ethical, Legal and Societal) readiness levels , including metrics and indicators, to better judge the impact of smart developments.
The Creathon formula helps the teams to work towards a specific product or service for our regional
challenges. For the winners and best business proposals there will be cash prizes and in-kind prizes to
win. In addition to that: valuable business cases will be offered soft landing support to further develop
concepts in to ready to use products and services.
You are fully up to date. Keep an eye on this page, we will spread news about the ECIU Creation in the coming time (for example: signing up, program, overnight stay, etc.).
